Kevin Love Benched For Being Too White
As of approximately 11:55AM CST, the Cavaliers have announced that Kevin Love has been sidelined for Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Our sources tell us that it seems as though Love, the 9th year NBA Vet, is too white to play in tonight's game.
Per Cleveland's coach Tyronn Lue:
"The decision to sideline [Kevin] was made early Wednesday morning. While prepping for game film, it occured to me that at a few points throughout the game, both Matthew Dellavedova and Kevin were on the court at the same time. We just can't take that chance." (he didn't actually say that)
Golden State has taken a swift 2-0 lead over the Eastern Conference Champions, causing questions and concerns over this decision to circulate rapidly in the sports realm. By sitting Love, the Cavs lose not only an excellent spot up shooter, but a player who is fundamentally sound on both ends. In place of Love, coach Lue will start backup PF Channing Frye, "because he can jump higher."
Rumors are surfacing saying that this was a health related decision, linking back to the Power Forwards possible concussion he suffered in Game 2. However, the exact reasoning is still uncertain.
When asked about the decision, backup point guard, Matthew Dellavedova responded by saying, "I don't really know, mate. I'm just glad it's not me this year." In what seems like just one year ago, the Australian native was rushed to the emergency room after a very physical Game 2 of the 2015 NBA Finals against the same Warriors team.
