Crying MJ Meme Wins NCAA Title and the Internet

The fact that North Carolina suffered a heartbreaking loss in the NCAA National Title game is absolute destiny for the internet. Not because the last two shots of the game were arguably two of the most impressive, clutch shots taken all season. Not because this was the greatest NCAA Championship game in recent history, but simply because the North Carolina loss sparked one of the greatest nights in social media history... the pinnacle of the Crying Michael Jordan meme's internet success. Could it be any more perfect? A textbook ending to a natty title, with none other than 'His Airness' himself being present for his Alma Mater's last second destruction. In my opinion, the crying MJ meme is used a little too much in daily/weekly social media culture. This time was different. It was, as I said before, destiny.

People, I don't think you understand. Internet wizards were sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for such a monumental evening in History to happen. These works of art were released MERELY MINUTES after the confetti cannons exploded (which, by the way, took a huge set of balls by the confetti operator to pull that trigger so soon). Not even ten minutes later, the internet wizards had taken over as the champions of the NCAA tournament.

I saw hundreds of these memes on my Twitter feed (@jakobeliason), but here are some of my favorites:

And just in case you missed Jenkins taking the floor mop from the mop kid and reminding America that kids shouldn't be in charge of keeping the playing floor safe and dry....

What do I wish would have happened? I wish that Michael Jordan had actually cried, so that they could put the Crying MJ meme on top of an already crying MJ. It would have been absolute perfection. However, I'm almost glad that didn't happen, because the internet might have actually imploded.
