Chris Paul's Nut Shot Is Completely Expected
Rumors are currently flying regarding Chris Paul’s most recent b**** move in the NBA. As if the whining all game, every game wasn’t enough, Paul recently resorted to assaulting his defender to get his way. According to reports, the All-Star point guard will probably face a fine, and possibly a suspension, from the NBA.
Wednesday night, Paul the Los Angeles Clippers visited Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in OKC. In the final seconds of the second quarter, what should have been a simple give-and-go turned into CP3 giving Durant a “love tap” that sent him doubling over in pain. Here’s the vine via The Cauldron:
In March of 2005, Chris Paul was suspended for one game in the ACC Tournament for blatantly punching Julius Hodge in the family jewels. Although none of the referees caught sight of the incident to call a foul, the TV cameras sure did. Ah, the joys of instant replay. Because of this, Wake Forest sent the Demon Deacons ringleader to the bench for their semi-final game, followed by this statement from Paul himself:
[ESPN] But Paul said in a statement that, "I would like to apologize to Julius Hodge, the NC State team, Wake Forest fans and my teammates for an incident that I truly regret. Sunday night was emotional for me for many reasons and I let my emotions get the best of me. However, that is no excuse for my actions and I fully accept and agree with my suspension."
There you have it – the first admittance of many intentional, inexcusable actions. Here’s the video:

Much more recently, the Clippers’ point guard got involved in a similar situation, this time involving someone that could eat him alive. During a western conference matchup in April of 2015, Chris Paul used a loose ball as a chance to get an under the radar shot at Chris Kaman’s (Portland Trailblazers) manhood. Instead of doubling over in pain, Kaman took an alternate approach:
If you compare the Kaman and Durant incidents, you notice that Paul makes his move AFTER he begins to jet away from his victim.
For the sole reason that you don’t see “genuine accidents” like this happen numerous times, in the same manner from the same player, it will be tough for the NBA to pass on a punishment for Chris Paul.
Dating back to 2005 (and probably way before that), the Clippers’ superstar has a notorious track record of technical fouls, derogatory slurs and now, physical assault. As for his reasoning behind making Kevin Durant his target, one may never know. After all, the two were Team USA Olympic teammates, and seem to have a great relationship on and off the court. But considering that the Thunder are one spot ahead of the Clips in the playoff battle, it’s safe to say that Chris Paul is using every possible avenue to keep his Blake Griffin-less club in the hunt for the title. If that’s not the case, maybe he’s just gay.
For the sake of the gossip - we'll assume he's gay.
